I always want to write about the funny things these little ones say and do, but often forget by the time I get around to it. Bennett is FULL of hilarious comparisons and often interchanges verbs not quite appropriately. Right now things...like tools, rakes, toys...are often "living" somewhere. He found a screw driver in a kitchen drawer and promptly told me, "Mommy, this screw driver does not live in here. It lives in the garage."
Not too long ago, Elly Rose was in his personal lego-building space and he called for help...saying, "Mommy, can you come get Elly Rose. I am all finished with her. I don't need her anymore." We could not contain our laughter. He was so serious.
...And over the weekend, he was asking about our tulips as the petals are now falling off. I told him, soon our black raspberries will be ripe. Different things grow and bloom at different times. He promptly told me he was going to get his chair so he could, "watch his black raspberries grow-up." And he did just that. One chair for him and one for Rosie.
This one...her verbal skills have completely taken off over the past two weeks. She says "please," "thank you," and "bless you" appropriately and if you catch her at a particular chatty moment, she tries almost anything you toss her way. Right now her regular words include: apple, cracker, mommy, daddy, bubby, dog, duck, ball, bubble, cheese, drink, and milk. She calls her baby's bottle a "baba" and tries so hard to say "uncle drew."
She has quite the set of lungs and has an extremely high-pitched squeal when she is not on the receiving end of something she wants. In the car, Bennett pleads with her to stop "yelling" and will even share his snacks - anything to quiet this girl. Bennett does not share treats too willingly!
