Funny stuff.

Bennett is always saying and doing funny things. He makes me laugh...most recently it has been regarding, "who is a boy...who is a girl." Don't worry...his questions don't get too complicated, but he is constantly asking who in his life is a boy and who is a girl. Same goes for characters in books and shows, friends in school and furry pets. This past Friday, we visited papaw at his office at the same time that he had a couple out-of-town clients. Bennett, standing in the middle of them, proudly asks me, "Mommy, is papaw a boy or a girl?"

Zach lured Bennett away at a Super Bowl/Amy's Birthday gathering just long enough to put a tattoo on his backside. Zach loves a good butt-hat and we enjoy a laugh. Poor little guy...I had to scrub that thing off of him before school on Tuesday morning.

Sorry about the photos...some formatting issues that I can't solve at the moment. Amy with her boys...they had fun testing out the icing on her ice cream cake before we sang to her. Love those smiling faces!

Elly Rose does yoga!

I was actually trying to distract Bennett the other night before bedtime because they were invading one another's space, so I started asking B to do some yoga poses with me. We turn around and without missing a beat, Roie was mimicking us. She is growing faster than I would like...always wanting to what her big brother does. Today, she had her 16-month well baby visit. It is always reassuring to hear your babies are healthy and growing. During conversation with our pediatrician regarding the recent measles outbreak, Elly Rose wandered over to Dr. Cumming and he held her while we talked. I loved seeing her trust him and was reminded of the extraordinary person he is.

Valentine's Day heart-shaped pancakes! Since this morning, we have made candy-caned, christmas tree, star and gingerbread pancakes...what did I start?

We keep Elly Rose on a tight schedule in the morning. Even though she goes down by 7:30 in the evening, most mornings she is still asleep at 7:20. We all try to leave before 8, so it is straight out of bed, to breakfast, dressed, coat and shoes and straight out the door for this little one. I think there are mornings where her feet barely touch the ground.
I think each photo of the two of them is Bennett either choking her or putting his hands on Elly Rose's face. Zach's parents enabled us to sneak out for a fun night before Valentine's Day, so on this evening we took our little valentines to fine dining of Steak-n-Shake. It was perfect...isn't it always?
